How to calculate the growth rate on YouTube
The Growth rate (GR) shows how much the number of subscribers to your channel has changed within a certain period of time. As most marketers make monthly comparisons, the calculation for the Monthly growth rate as follows:
📌 Monthly growth rate = (subscribers on the last day of the month - subscribers on the first day of the month) ÷ subscribers on the first day of the month
One example:
Assuming your YouTube channel had the following on 1 April 3.847 subscribers and on 30 April 4.019. This results in the following calculation:
👉 4.019 - 3.847 = 172
👉 172 ÷ 3.847 = 0,0447
👉 0.0447 × 100 = 4.47%
Multiplication by 100 is used to display the result as a Percentage to be displayed. The growth rate is usually rounded to two decimal places.
