Connect Google Sheets with DotSimple - Publish directly (via Make.com)

📋 Requirements: What you need

• A Google account with access to Google Sheets
• A DotSimple Account with access token & workspace ID
• One Make.com account

🗂️ Step 1: Prepare Google Sheet

Create a Google Sheet with these columns:

• Text: The social media post text
• Image linkPublicly accessible image link (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, CDN)

Important: You don't need a date - the publication takes place automatically immediately.

⚙️ Step 2: Set up scenario in Make.com

1. Module 1 - Google Sheets:
   Module: Watch new rows
   → Select your spreadsheet and tab (e.g. "Sheet1")
   → Activate "Headers available"

2. Module 2 - HTTP:
   Module: Get a File
   → Use the image URL from the sheet to download the image

3. Module 3 - DotSimple file upload:
   Module: Upload file
   → If not yet connected, proceed as follows:

   • In the DotSimple app, go to Settings → Access token
   • Click on "Create new token" (e.g. "Make Schedule Now")
   • Select "never expires" and copy the token
   • The Workspace ID can be found in the URL of your app after /app/ (e.g. app.dotsimple.io/app/abc12345)

   → Use the downloaded file from the HTTP module as the file source

4. Module 4 - Publish post immediately:
   Module: Create Post
   → Set the following fields:

   • Schedule Now: Yes
   • IsOriginal: Yes
   • Body: Text from the Google Sheet
   • Media: File ID from the previous upload module
   • Platform: z.e.g. LinkedIn page, Instagram or Facebook

   ❌ Do not fill in any additional fields such as "Schedule" or "Queue"! - this would overwrite the immediate upload.

🚀 Result: post goes live immediately

As soon as you insert a new line in the Google Sheet, the post including the image is automatically transferred to DotSimple via Make.com and published directly - without delay or manual intervention.

💡 Tips for your workflow

• Use a separate sheet only for "instant posts" to avoid misunderstandings
• Only activate the scenario trigger after a successful test run ("Run Once")
• Add a "Published on" column for tracking purposes
