Connect RSS with DotSimple - Schedule posts (via Make.com)

With an RSS feed, you can automatically convert content from blogs, news sites or your own CMS into social media posts. In this article, I will show you step by step how you can use Make.com (formerly Integromat) and DotSimple new articles from an RSS feed automatically as Planned contributions can be posted - including picture, description, time and platform selection.

📋 Requirements: What you need

  • A functioning RSS feed URL
  • One DotSimple Account with access token & workspace ID
  • One Make.com account

 

🗂️ Step 1: Create scenario in Make.com

  1. Create scenario:
    Go to make.com and click on "Create a new Scenario".

  2. Module 1 - RSS:
    Module: Watch RSS Feed Items
    → Insert the RSS feed URL (e.g. https://rss.nytimes.com/services/xml/rss/nyt/Europe.xml)
    → Select "From now on" or "Choose manually" to test the items

 

🖼️ Step 2: "Download" image

  1. Module 2 - HTTP:
    Module: Get a file
    → Select the image URL from the RSS feed (e.g. from media:content url or rawContentUrl)
    → If the feed does not contain an image, you can skip this step

 

⬆️ Step 3: Upload image to DotSimple

  1. Module 3 - DotSimple: Upload File
    → If you have not yet connected your DotSimple account:

    • In the DotSimple app, go to Settings → Access token
    • Create a new token (e.g. "RSS Make"), select "never expires"
    • The Workspace ID can be found in the URL after /app/ (e.g. app.dotsimple.io/app/abc123)
    • Enter both in Make.com

    → Use the output from the HTTP module as the file

 

📅 Step 4: Create and plan your post

  1. Module 4 - DotSimple: Create Post
    → Set the following fields:

    • Date: z.B. 2025-07-10
    • Time: z.B. 12:00
    • Schedule: Yes
    • IsOriginal: Yes
    • Body: Choose e.g. Description from the RSS feed
    • Media: The file ID from the upload module (use "Map")
    • Platform: z.e.g. LinkedIn page, Instagram or Facebook

Tip: Make sure that you have connected at least one platform in your DotSimple account.

 

✅ Result: Planned social media post from RSS

Your RSS article is automatically processed, including image and description, and scheduled directly in DotSimple - without manual copy-paste. Ideal for news, press releases or regular content.
