Connect Google Sheets with DotSimple - Publish directly (via Zapier)

📋 Requirements: What you need

  • A Google account with Google Sheets
  • A DotSimple Account with access token & workspace ID
  • One Zapier account

 

🗂️ Step 1: Prepare your Google Sheet

Create a Google Sheet with these columns:

  • Text: The social media post text
  • Image linkA publicly accessible image link (e.g. Dropbox, Google Drive, CDN)

Important: You need no dateas the post will be published immediately.

 

⚙️ Step 2: Set up the Zapier workflow

  1. Trigger - Google Sheets:
    App: Google Sheets
    Event: New or Updated Spreadsheet Row
    → Select the spreadsheet and the tab (e.g. "Sheet1")

  2. Action 1 - Upload image:
    App: DotSimple
    Event: Upload file
    → If not yet connected:

    • In your DotSimple app, go to Settings → Access token
    • Click on "Create new token" (e.g. "Zapier Now")
    • Select "never expires" and copy the token
    • The Workspace ID can be found in the URL after /app/ (e.g. app.dotsimple.io/app/abc123)
    • Paste both into Zapier

    → Use the image URL from the Google Sheet for the upload

  3. Action 2 - Publish post immediately:
    App: DotSimple
    Event: Create Post
    → Set the following fields:

    • Schedule Now: true
    • IsOriginal: true
    • Body: Text from the Google Sheet
    • Media: File ID from upload step
    • Platform: z.e.g. LinkedIn page, Instagram or Facebook

    Note: Fields such as "Schedule" or "Queue" remain empty - with "Schedule Now: true", the post goes live immediately.

 

🚀 Result: Post will be published immediately

Each new row in the Google Sheet automatically triggers the publication of a post on your desired platform - without any delay or manual planning.
