4.1 Provide, Improve, and Develop Services We are able to offer our Services, support your use of our products, and implement enhancements by leveraging the information we gather to understand how you engage with and use our Services.

Location information is used to tailor our Services for you and others. For instance, we can automatically detect your location to facilitate scheduling messages according to your local time zone.

We conduct surveys, research, and feature testing, and analyze the data at our disposal to assess and enhance our products and services, develop new features, and conduct audits and troubleshooting.

5. Information We Receive from Other Sources

If you utilize any of the Services we offer, we may receive information about you. We will notify you when we collect data that may be shared internally and combined with other data from our Services. For example, when you link your Facebook account to DotSimple, you have the option to permit DotSimple to collect data from Facebook on your behalf.

We may also receive private information about your business profiles from the social network profiles you connect to DotSimple, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, GoogleMyBusiness, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram.

Our use of Google data is limited to specific use cases, such as accessing and storing analytics, comments, and posts from your accounts on GoogleMyBusiness, Blogger, and YouTube. We may also access real-time data from your Google Analytics account when you authorize it through our reporting area. Additionally, we securely store access tokens from Google that allow us to publish on your behalf to Google My Business, Blogger, and YouTube. These access tokens can be revoked at any time.

Please note that while using our services to connect with other platforms, you are subject to the privacy policies of those platforms. 6. Information We Share and Disclose

We do not sell or trade your personally identifiable information. However, exceptions include trusted third parties who assist us in operating our Services, conducting our business, or servicing you. These parties must agree to maintain the confidentiality of your information and adhere to GDPR compliance.

We may disclose your information when we believe it is necessary to comply with the law, enforce our site policies, or protect our rights, property, or safety.

Non-personally identifiable visitor information may be shared with other parties for marketing, advertising, or other purposes.

6.1 Sharing You Control

We share or disclose your personal data with your explicit consent or as directed by you. This includes instances when you authorize a social network or third-party application to access your account or instruct us to share your feedback with a business.

When you share content via your DotSimple account with a third-party service, please be aware that you are controlling the flow of this content from our platform to the third-party service.

By adding a team member or client to your account, you may choose to share personal data with them. For instance, you may opt to share a client’s social media report with a team member. As a data controller, DotSimple provides you with the necessary tools and settings to manage the flow of data.

Based on your settings, we also provide specific third parties with personal data to assist us in offering or operating our Services.

Our application uses OpenAI’s API (https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy) to generate caption text for your social media content. We share only the specific data necessary to create these captions with OpenAI. This may include the text you provide for caption generation. We do not share your personal information or the content of your social media accounts without your explicit consent.

By using the AI functionality within our app to generate captions, you consent to the sharing of data necessary for caption generation with OpenAI. This consent is integral to the use of the AI features. However, please note that this consent is specific to the AI functionality and does not extend to other data-sharing practices. You can withdraw your consent by discontinuing use of the AI features.

6.2 Service Providers and Advertisers

We engage service providers to perform various functions and services for us in the United States, UK, and other countries. For instance, we utilize third-party services to host our blogs and websites and to analyze the use of our services, such as Google Analytics.

We may share your private personal data with these service providers, subject to obligations consistent with this Privacy Policy and other appropriate confidentiality and security measures. These third parties are required to use your private personal data exclusively on our behalf and in accordance with our instructions.

We share your payment information with payment service providers for processing payments, preventing and detecting fraud or prohibited activities, facilitating dispute resolution (e.g., chargebacks or refunds), and other purposes related to the acceptance of credit and debit cards.

Additionally, we may share information with advertisers and advertising networks to select and deliver relevant advertisements to you and others. We may utilize the personal data collected from you to display relevant ads on third-party websites. For instance, if we observe that you have actively used our reporting features, we may use this data to show you relevant advertisements on platforms like Facebook, informing you of new analytics features we’ve launched.

6.3 Affiliates and Change of Ownership

In the event of bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset sale, your personal data may be sold or transferred as part of that transaction. This Privacy Policy will continue to apply to your personal data as transferred to the new entity.

We may also disclose personal data about you to our affiliates to assist in operating our services and our affiliates’ services. This information is limited to your email address, browsing behavior, and any actions you’ve taken on our website before becoming a customer.

7. Security Measures and where and how we Store and Transfer Your Personal Data

GDPR Compliance

We take data protection very seriously and have made every effort to comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/reg/2016/679/oj), which is a regulation in EU law governing data protection and privacy for individuals within the European Union and the EEA region. We will take all reasonable steps to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy policy.

The data we collect from you may be transferred to and stored in a location outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by employees or contractors working for us or our suppliers who operate outside the EEA. These individuals may be involved in activities such as processing your orders, handling your payment details, and providing support services. By submitting your personal data, you consent to this transfer, storage, or processing.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure server solution located in the European Union. Any payment transactions are encrypted using TLS technology and processed through our payment gateway, Stripe. We do not store any credit card information in our system. We also offer additional security controls within DotSimple, allowing you to restrict access to specific IP addresses.

To enhance data security, we implement Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) as a safeguard for your personal information.

By agreeing to these Terms of Service, you acknowledge and consent to the following:

  3. Access and Security: MFA with Google Authenticator or a similar app is designed to protect your account from unauthorized access. You agree not to share your MFA credentials or generated codes with anyone and to promptly notify us if you suspect any unauthorized access to your account. We have listed the link to the Privacy Policy for Google here: https://sites.google.com/view/authenticator-privacy-policy/.
  4. Compliance: Failure to comply with this MFA requirement may result in the suspension or termination of your DotSimple account. We reserve the right to enforce this measure to protect the security of your data and our platform.

We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of data protection and security, and the implementation of MFA is part of our commitment to your privacy.

Security Disclaimer
