Social Media Intelligence

Under Social Media Intelligence (abbreviated as SOCMINT) refers to the collection, evaluation and visualisation of User-generated content on Social media platforms. The aim is to collect and bundle information in order to derive management decisions regarding the overall corporate strategy. Social Media Intelligence does not refer to a single technology, but rather encompasses the entire process from the provision of data to the application of findings. In addition to the commercial aspect of social media intelligence, SOCMINT or SMI is also used to gain intelligence findings are used by the secret services.
