How to calculate organic reach on Facebook
The Organic reach rate (ORR) indicates what percentage of your followers (page likes) see your posts - without paid advertising.
🔹 Post ORR = Organic reach / number of followers
🔹 ORR profile = average of all post-ORRs within a certain period (e.g. last month)
If you promote posts, both organic and paid reach will be recorded. However, the ORR refers exclusively to organic reach and is therefore the best indicator of how many people in your community actually see your posts. If the value is only in the single-digit percentage range, it might be time to think about paid advertising.
What influences organic reach on Facebook?
That's the big question - but thanks to social analytics, you can see which of your previous posts have achieved an above-average ORR. Basically: The more interactive a post, the further it spreads.
Sometimes you can even get a Organic range of over 100 % see. This means that your post will go viral and reach people outside of your existing followers - a common effect with smaller pages.
👉 Conclusion: Organic reach on Facebook is not dead - with the right strategy, you can still increase it in a targeted manner!
